Direct gas and oil firing of hot water vessels (closed or open vented) has significant operational and economical advantages over the traditional secondary heated steam or hot water indirect system.
The operational characteristics and thermal power to recovery rate ensure that hot water is always available in the most cost-effective manor.
The ACE THERMOGEYSER MKII & MKIII design of hot water generator emphasises the utilisation of the four most important features:
ACE have four sizes of standard production THERMOGEYSER MKII & MKIII but specialise in designing and manufacturing purpose made hot water generators to suit individual applications.
The ACETHERMOGEYSER is generally sized on the recovery rate requirement (R3). The storage capacity should only be considered as a back up to aid R3.
The design of the secondary domestic hot water system is evaluated using the peak simultaneous demand (PSD) system. For more in depth information ACE refer to the C.I.B.S.E. guide to the current practice.
The following table is a general rule of thumb guide for commercial hot water generators.

ALL ACE THERMOGEYSER hot water generators are fired by highly acclaimed VARIJET modulating package burners. The unique and patented IRIS air dampering system ensures a high degree of turn down and flame stability.
The ability to turn the heat source down during the low flow rate requirements thermal efficiency of the HWG to achieve higher than 85%. The burners are latest E.N. Standards for thermal process burners.
Heat Exchanger
The all stainless steel heater tube is a counter flow design, which allows the downward reverse flow for the products of combustion.
Any condensation generated at low flow rate drains to the lower level flue outlet affecting the burner.
The inside of the heater tube can be cleaned through the burner or flue end apertures.
The outer shell of the THERMOGEYSER is fabricated from rolled formed and steel sheet. The end plate of the HWG is a bolted stainless steel sheet. The end plate of the HWG is a bolted stainless steel strengthened plate, with bolted access. The heat exchangers and shell are assembled and pressure required rating with a certificate issued with the completed unit.
A control panel is provided which houses the ACE digital display P.I.D. controller. The controller is a two set point model the first set point being control to modulate the burner, the second is a high limit which will interrupt control circuit to the burner, in the event of an over temperature situation. The temperature controller is connected to a K type thermocouple, to give the highest level of control available.
The THERMOGEYSER is insulated with 50mm thick rockwool insulation, enclosed in a steel-sheeted outer casing.
The steel cladding is plastic coated for protection. Special waterproof protection can be provided for the HWG, burner and controls for units, which are required to operate externally.
The design of the THERMOGEYSER system is such that it allows for the burner and heater tube to make condensation within the flue gas. A special flue termination box is provided with a screwed boss to allow for fitting drain away pipework. Provision should be made during the design and planning stages to allow for the provision of the necessary condensate collecting and dispersion.
The complete fabrication and assembly of the burners hot water shell and heater tubes is carried out in house at the ACE modern factory in LANCASHIRE.
A complete CAD system with full technical file are carried on each individually made system.
A full record of the components and materials used together with details of the person responsible for the manufacture is available. All components used in the manufacture of the burner and controls are CE marked.
Because of the flexibility and experience of the ACE technical team, a full design and installation capability is available for BESPOKE requirements.
engineer the key to solving any burner requirement.
